You have it backwards. The webmasters didn't give the free hosts a bad name. The free hosts gave the webmasters bad names because they kept adding and deleting things to the webmasters pages.

Why give all freehosts a bad reputation? doesn't some of them (free hosts) understand that changing content isn't good for their business, unless you mean changing banner type also, but if so why is that bad?
What if we added a whitelist on good freehosts that you and the freehostowners agree on supporting. Wouldn't this solve the problem?
