Well...it might depend on how much you want to take on at once.
You have two good domain names there. One hasn't been used yet, but has two good words in it. The other has been online awhile already.
So maybe it's worth considering developing them both at the same time.
The reason I say this is that I've found there are almost always at least two good answers to every question. Almost always at least two good ways to do most things you want to do. Two good ways to arrive at the same goal.
For one site you could outsource design, while doing the other all yourself. Submitted sites could appear on both link lists.
Nice opportunity to see if using an older domain really helps one while the newer one gets sandboxed for awhile.
And if you're feeling especially masochistic, you could even use both of your two top script choices, one on each domain, for a nice side-by-side test.
One thing... if you decide to go this way, don't look to murder me later.
