BV, I can tell you from very personal experience that less and less companies are interested in a show floor, and more and more are interested in unique marketting situations that allow them to truly reach out and touch people.
Shared experiences, seminars that teach, social time... that is what makes shows really go. Most people don't talk about the AVN show floors, they talk about the parties, the after hours, the nutty adventures... the XBIZ show (like the Cybernetexpo show and the Pheonix Forum) seems to be tuned into exactly that mentality.
About 5 years ago a group of webmasters did this sort of thing unofficially, and it was a good time.
