Shared experiences, seminars that teach, social time... that is what makes shows really go. Most people don't talk about the AVN show floors, they talk about the parties, the after hours, the nutty adventures... the XBIZ show (like the Cybernetexpo show and the Pheonix Forum) seems to be tuned into exactly that mentality.
About 5 years ago a group of webmasters did this sort of thing unofficially, and it was a good time.

I agree somewhat, most of the better networking I've done has been on the side during a party or back in the room. But there is still room for business that can be conducted on the show floor and I still like to stroll through it all.
Not to mention all the extra revenue it could generate for XBiz. I'm hoping they do well.
BTW: I think the Hard Rock is an excellent venue and Vegas is a good location for everyone buying plane tickets.
I'd like to see an Orlando venue, that would be just as good as far as flights are concerned. All the mommy webmasters could take the family to see Mickey Mouse too!
