BV, I will let you in on another secret of trade shows: Unless the show floor is large and well sold, it isn't a very profitable part of the show.
Most hotels, when you get floor space for a trade show, will turn around and require a minimum number of hotel rooms be rented / agreed to. Even a small show floor of 25 or 30 booths could still require 150-200 rooms PER NIGHT for the entire run of the show, including setup time. You need time to setup, time to take down, union rules and rates... and unless you sell that show floor out and really make it worth visiting, people are not going to get too excited about it.
Most companies in the adult business these days are loath to run a booth at anything other than the biggest shows, and even then, many of them are still not interested.
If you look at all the current show crop, outside of the AVN shows there are no showrooms anymore. Financial obligation versus return pretty much seals the deal.
