I have broken this into two parts because GG loves the quoting thing.

Here's the skinny on that. OC Cash does have the encode/unencode switch these days. Chop wasn't aware of it, which is pretty much due to
past threads. At that point, OC was one of the NATS programs not allowing unencoding of links. I'm not bashing OC here, just stating a fact with no opinion on the matter what so ever. I assume Jay didn't catch what Chop was getting at about the NATS issue and that may be why part of this argument has been left unanswered.

The initial versions of NATS did not allow for the unencoding of links to my knowledge.
