Personally, I don't look at thumb-size. If the image looked distorted because the webmaster was forcing the full-size pic to dynamically resize in the browser, then I'd have issues with.
I've made some fairly beefy sized thumbs and have never heard of a problem with them, so my suggestion would be to not really worry about it but to pay more attention to the size of your full-size pics.
The word "little"? My guess would be the context with most places. Submit "this guy has a little cock" and no one's going to care. Use it to insinuate a young age and their would be issues.
