We have the most amazing double standards over here.
At one end of the scale Buffy and The Simpsons get censored before broadcast, some episodes never get shown at all, and there are 4 episodes of the original 1060s Star Trek series that have never been shown over here at all because they are deemed unsuitable.
Then at the other end we have broadcast stations that show soft porn (I mean unencoded terrestrial, the same kind as your CBS, Fox, etc, not satellite channels), One chat show host, who takes great delight in using 'fuck' and 'cunt' whenever he can, recently showed a video of his anal examination on his show (film from the camera that goes up your ass). A lot of the jokes on British TV are very obscene. And even I was shocked at an long scene of a woman being anally raped on TV a couple of years back.
Yet while I watch all this, I banned from watching some episodes of The Simpsons and Star Trek because they are deemed unsuitable for public viewing.
Go figure.
