Truly your best move would be to get paid hosting. You can get a hosting plan for as little as $7 US a month.
Your freehosting, even if its a friend, could easily drop in ads on top and bottom without you knowing in the hopes of him/her earning more money. Think of it this way. Nearly all link lists have the 3 outgoing links rule. Your freehost drops in a couple iframes and you now have 5. You are now BL at the other lists as well. All your freesites you spent months working on are removed. Thats wasted work. Its just better to be in control of your own freesites.
Use the freehost for your own hub or other little projects you monitor regularly if ya need to keep bandwidth costs down in the beginning.
