No problem, let me try to explain.
Ping-o-matic is a pinging service that the standard WP install will ping every time you post. Then ping-o-matic pings a number of different sites that you have updated your blog. Some of these sites are RSS aggregators and some directories. Some will take adult, others won't.
You must register your blog with these services (the ones Ping-O-Matic pings) or pinging them actually does no good (does no harm either). If you want to see which services Ping-O-Matic pings you can see them on their website

Technorati,
http://www.technorati.com, is one of the service it pings so before your ping will be effective you must go to technorati and "claim" your blog.
My Yahoo is another service. If you have a my yahoo account you can submit your blog and then ping o matic will notify Yahoo everytime it is updated.
Most of these places do not require recipricol links but some do so check them out when you register with them (or submit to them if you prefer)
I've got a pretty comprehensive list of mainstream aggregators and directories you can submit adult to that I've been meaning to get added to Adult Blogging Tools but have just been too damn lazy. PM me and I can email it to all that ask.
