I tried to figure out years ago why Dubya refused to talk with Saddam when he was offering open communications. After all, wouldn't a follower of Jesus at least make some effort for peace before killing 10,000s and fostering a world where allies are now breeding more terrorists then at any time in history?
He's a cowboy and he wants his base to think that he's strong. His base is filled with hostility and hate and that's become a valuable tool. If he talks to any of these leaders and avoids war then he's not able to control his base of voters.
Ahmadinejad blaming Israel and making silly claims is little different then Dubya's claims about Saddam. I'm sure that if any leaders in Iran speaks out against Ahmadinejad they will immediately be bashed by the media, called unpatriotic and basically loose power even if they're speaking the truth.
Not much different then what was going on here before the war.
I don't think Ahmadinejad is nuts. I think he controls his people by filling them with fear and hate. He also knows that now that Saddam is gone and we're tied up in a war that can NOT be won, he can do whatever he wants and we can't do shit about it.
