Thank you its been a hard battle that I continue to deal with one day at a time
like my buddy growing up who became an alcoholic and chemical dependant at 17. He is still sober to this day.
The first instance that church is just business happened when I was 9, though I did not understand that until much later. Went to private school at that time and received this little booklet where you were to put a dime in a slot every day for a month and give back to the nuns. This was given out to all the students, roughly 1000. No big deal, but it said if you can give more God will love you more! I questioned my Mom because Sunday school said he loves everyone equally. I remember my Mom taking it and storming out to my Dad stating that was it. All I know was next year I went to public school and have been a heathen ever since.
Even with that those early years still play on the mind from time to time. Which drives me a little
