I've used php redirects for a few years now. I love em but one thing I did notice, when I used them on ppc ads I wasn't getting many sales. I went back to the direct linking and sales picked up instantly. Not sure why other than the php redirect can hang from time to time and take a few seconds longer. I dunno if that was spooking surfers or if it was just a fluke.
