The Brits got wind of a secret plot to sieze control of the government by those despots at Allied Grains, who we're enraged when their petition to grow wheat at Stonehenge was denied. Since it's considered bad form to go around bombing your own citizens, the RAF arranged for an "accidental" bombing by their chums over at the USAF, just to send a message.
