It's hard to complain about the power being out when most of your house is running off a natural gas generator
Even though my neighbors have no idea what my name is, I was a nice guy & ran each of them a cord yesterday morning so that they had some power (I guess the lady that lives next door to me is an 82 year old widow - who knew?)
Yell's house was flooding as soon as the snow started to melt & the generator that he borrowed to get his sump pump running was stopping & starting, so he was pulling his hair out all day.
The duplex that we own down the street from Yell (where my step-daughter lives) had the same problem, but oddly enough, their power came back on around 7, but there's a huge tree down in the yard
I spoke to the MaryLou's a couple of times yesterday & they are doing ok. MML figured out about 1/2 way thru the day that the natural gas fire place actually existed & worked, so they have heat

He ran out & got some supplies & they were mostly just annoyed.
It was really fucking strange driving to Yell's last night in the dark. No lights at all for about 2 miles & then Abbott Rd (where the Bills Stadium is) had power every 1/2 mile - strange to see Yell's house without power, but the duplex 6 houses away was up.
There's still 400,000 without power this morning (we were part of the 20,000 that they got back on yesterday)
I'm supposed to go to the Sabres game tonight, but that's up in the air, so it looks like it'll be a Pool House weekend once again
