That's why men have ability to completely 'tune out'.
Some of us can tune out more completely than others. It drove my ex-wife nuts. She'd walk into the the room while I was watching something on TV or working on the computer and just start talking without getting my attention first. Then she'd get pissed when I had no idea what she'd just said.
