RSS feeds are just another way to get traffic to your site. Yes, they are hot right now and can makey you money if you have quality content to push through those feeds and get subscribers. Subscribers are something like bookmarkers.
They go nicely with blogs and all frequently updated sites.
As for articles, start off with Wikipedia.
