Ping listed results are fine and dandy, but a waste of time for most bloggers..
The people that end up on the top are those that take advantage of the system, mass posts that are just rss fed or gallery links. For those that write posts with text, like once a day or so, it's usually a waste.
Maybe you'll monitor your site and make a difference. 99% don't.
