That info has been floating around the Internet for awhile. Many of the major SE's grew tired of attempts to spam keyword Meta tags, so they simply ignore them now. This has been verified by many of the SEO's in the business, not to mention various reports from the SE's themselves. I thought it was common knowledge.

Many still leave their meta tags in place for the smaller SEs that still use them, but Google doesn't use them at all, save for the title tag. The description tag is occasionally used for descriptive purposes in the search results (unless it uses the open directorie's description), but many agree it's no longer checked for keywords.

Now days most internet marketers optimize their pages with title tags, anchor text, page rank, and the distribution of a particular keyword throughout the body of the page.
