Actually, no one is fired in transitions of administrations, they all resign to save face from being fired, and if they do not get their jobs back no one looks bad, which is the point of the tradition, to keep the POTUS from looking bad.
Linda Tripp was fired since she thought she did the GOP a huge favor and refused to resign since she thought she was owed a job from the GOP so she sued and lost.
I think these 8 lawyers will be a start of something bigger.
A friend of mine sent me a link this morning, said 2 of those 8 that was fired refused to bring obscenity charges in the battle against pornography which I find interesting.
