FRI JULY 20 - 16:25: A fibre optic cable was cut by construction crews late yesterday afternoon, affecting several VPS and dedicated servers in our Baltimore Datacenter. BTP have been trying to repair the line since 5PM last night, but have run into technical difficulties as well as torrential rainfall that keeps eroding the hole they are trying to do the repairs in. As a temporary fix, BTP is running an above ground line through the problem area to give us weekend connectivity while they repair the damage underground. They have told us that full service should be restored by 18:00 (6PM EST) tonight. This is a network-level outage, and beyond the control of A1 Web Solutions. We will be seeking compensation from the construction company which is liable for this incident. If we are successful, the said compensation will be shared amongst our affected clients.
