I don't see how putting php on your pages will hurt you, unless your trying to load some bad stuff. Almost all my pages use php, plus I have a php ads script, been doing both for many years.

Javascript is what can cause you problems.

Godaddy can be real bad because they can lock up your domain name, without that, your done. They've done it to many people.

I agree with UW, awstats is not to bad, many hosts provide it free with the hosting.
