A freesite is free and requires no verification to enter other than to read and understand the terms on the Enter page. A freesite typically has 4 pages (Enter --> Main --> Gallery 1 & Gallery 2). A freesite builder uses the free movies or pictures on the gallery pages as a pretext to convincing the surfer to click on an ad link and purchase a paysite membership. That membership will then in turn give the builder a commission.
AVS stands for Adult Verification System. An example is
SexKey. With an AVS, you have to go through some sort of process to pay and/or prove your age in order to access a number of adult sites. Once inside the walls of the AVS, surfers are usually given an up sell pitch to a full paid membership. AVS sites begain to declined several years ago when US Courts ruled that use of a credit card alone was not sufficient to prove a surfer's age of majority.
