Sorry but my husband is currently active duty Navy, floating on a boat off the coast of Oman and my stance in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and especially 2004 is ABB!!! Anyone but BUSH.
That doesn't make me anti military, it makes me PRO-American.
Iraq is nothing compared to what under the guise of "homeland security" has done. In less than 3 years it has taken our rights that have stood for over 200 years and thrown them out the window. Just go to any airport in the country. and if he gets reelected, don't think that porn is too far behind on his agenda. The more he thumps his Bible and compares being a "loyal american" and "christian" the more lemmings fall in behind him.
Being a military wife, i have the upmost respect for those who serve in the military. But the President is ELECTED!! he comes to the Commander and Chief post by DEFAULT. If he told all the military to jump off Niagara falls, don't you think someone would Question him?? This is OUR right as US citizens to disagree with policy and voice our concerns. Erode those rights and we might as well go live in Tehran or Bagdad or Mecca.
Bush arriving on the Flight deck of the USSAL was, in my opinion a greater insult to all military personnel than anyone who ever burned a flag.
No one questions the loyality of the actual military men and women who put their lives on the line daily, but why is it, those of us who disagree with the reasons behind the war, be it Vietnam or Iraq I or Iraq II, are always forced to defend their loyality to America??
The past we cannot change. What happened in Vietnam, the reasons behind it, the fortunes that LBJ and his family made off of it is past.
But we are able to change today.
Quite frankly I don't know a single candidate that i truly can say i really can stand behind. But having lived in NYC during the Sharpton years, the Twana Brawley Bullshit, Al is looking pretty good comparatively speaking.
And HELLO.. Waco was 51 days.. and guess what, as long as servicemen and women who are deployed to Iraq are still getting killed every day, the "war" is still going on. It will truly be OVER, not when Bush says it is, but when all the military are back home with their families. Ft. Lewis here in WA State just deployed 250 MORE reservists to Iraq. How is that "over" for their families??
and i bet the Shrub gets a raging hard-on every time he thinks about he did what his Daddy couldn't!!!
