Most mainstream affiliate program use a 30 days cookie
Adult affiliate program are shady on their cookie policy.
A 120 days cookie is 4 times higher than any other affiliate program

It's a good deal if you are a serious webmaster, trust me
It's very hard to lay a foundation of trust when you say our concerns/questions are irrelevant and do not make sense, and infer that those of us who run adult sponsor programs may use shady policies.

I don't want to get into a discussion of logic, odds making and high-end number theories here, but the statement that a surfer who joins a site after 4 months being more likely to have "simply come from a link list" doesn't carry much weight unless you have some hard evidence to back that up. Plus, the link list may have your code in their link which would over-ride the earlier cookie anyway.

As an irrelevant, nonsensical and potentially shady adult affiliate program operator, we choose to use the longest possible cookie life that our processor allows (255 days) and use additional php coding to make sure cookies and codes are passed along even when surfers edit urls in ways that remove link codes.

As a serious webmaster, I think that's a better deal, but no need to trust me, you can do the math yourself.
