There are different levels of involvement in this business.

If all you want to do is make a few blog posts every day and promote sponsor's porn, you could do this with very minimal coding, graphic, and server management experience. You won't get rich but it can be a nice hobby.

The next step is to start making a few freesites and/or galleries and submitting them to LL's and TGP's. For this, you'll ned at least some graphic editing skills and a good solid basis in HTML.

If you want to run a paysite - give up your life - there is no life for a paysite owner (unless you live in Colorado and all the local teen girls love you ). My typical day is around 20 hours - days and nights no longer mean a thing - I sleep when I can't go any further - then I get up in 4 to 6 hours and start it all over again.

I started this business almost two years ago with a very good understanding of photography, HTML, video editing, and graphic design. Although I could do it myself, I decided to hire out the database and php work (my background was in cfm) to a very trusted local developer that I can sit down with each week and see where we're at. I know enough about database integration that I drive him absolutely nuts.

If you are going to produce your own content, you can add an entire new can of worms. An ability to develop trust with your models can't be learned - you either have it or you don't - and without it, you can forget producing content.

As for farming it out without understanding how it works, that's how you end up with a site that installs addware crap to your client's computers. Do that to me once - and you've lost me as a friend forever!

IMO - now I need to get back to work
