Be careful though with Migration - I've just had to reformat my new mac cos Migration Manager moved everything across - but it locked up lots of apps and caused problems in other areas... like locking files for no apparent reason.
It would be better if you could choose what apps to move.
I was upgrading from 10.3.9 though to 10.5.2 and I think there has been many changes - so that could have been a problem.
I'm going to search later today to find out how to do it manually
