I just today created a blog on my AVS hub where I put all my tgps promoting my AVS sites. I link to it from some of the tgps, and a few of the avs sites, plus I figure if a surfer wants to remove all the sub folders and look at the base domain, maybe I'll sell them on joining one of the sites.
I've been meaning to do something like that that lists updates to my sites, and have been working on it for what feels like 47 hours staight.
I agree with Walrus though, linking a blog to freesites that link to sponsors maybe a bit long of a chain of links. At least linking to my AVS sites, that is something the surfer can just sign up for.
