**UPDATE**

The lastest projection from the NHC have the storm making landfall and passing northeast of Houston instead of just to the southwest.

For those not familiar with the significance of that relative position, consider the counter clockwise rotation of the storm in relation to the storm movement. By passing to our NE the winds and rain will travel a larger distance over land as they rotate around the eye of the storm before reaching us, signifcantly reducing the wind velocity and amount of rain.
