Yep, that's most definitely one of the signs of being a local here...sandal tan lines on the feet. No one wears real shoes very much (if ever) and barefoot is mostly for when we're inside at home. Locals are always the ones in the shade when everyone else is trying to 'get some sun' but no matter how much we hide from it the tan happens and we get the lines (unless we want to hang out on one of the nude beaches).
