I got a blank where the code was suppose to be.
This means that my e-mail program parsed the mail's code correctly and displayed an empty table.
The only way I know to prevent code from being parsed is to put in inside of a form's text area.
Some mail programs may have been more forgiving and somehow managed to display the html code as text, but since there would be no reliable way to know if the code should have been parsed or displayed it would have been hit or miss.
