I completely agree with what LusciousDelight said. Some of your free sites will never make sale some other with generate a lot of sales during the years and as more you have out there the more you can make. I started submitting free sites in 2005 and i still make sales from sites built at that time. The first traffic you get directly from link list is not so profitable, you may make some sales from it but i think the most comes with time and the search engine traffic. One of the main secrets of success is to build sites that are as much SEO optimized as possible, i don't think that if you are building them with no optimization at all you'll have enough profit from LL traffic only. These days free sites don't generate as much sales as before and it's caused by many reasons but i think that one of the main is that they can't get so good SE placements and traffic nowadays and that's why they need a heavy and creative optimization
