Jim, good call on getting a shotgun instead of a pistol for home protection. One stray shot trying to defend your home and family from a pistol and that round just might go through your walls and kill or injure your neighbor, while the pellets from a shotgun would be lucky to penetrate your walls and still have enough inertia to harm anyone.
Now, to the more important matter in this thread.... Starship captains!
Kirk and Picard is a moot point, really. Kirk lived during the time of a brash new "undiscovered" galaxy to explore while Picard's galaxy was kinder and gentler overall - so any comparison is apples and oranges.
Sisko - wow, I feel bad for him. How would you act if you're a Starship Captain and they stick you on a dilapidated Space Station on the border of Cardassian space?! I'd be hella pissed and have a real shitty attitude.
