There is some acceptance of JavaScript in LinkLists but I think it is still too rare for most JavaScript to be practical for freesites and galleries. There seems to be better acceptance of Google Analytics which uses JavaScript. I am guessing the better acceptance is because the JavaScript is written by and hosted by Google and so accepted as trustworthy.
Couldn't the LinkLists also host some JavaScript libraries to provide graphical browser effects and other useful things. If the freesite or gallery restricted itself to JS libraries hosted by more trusted LinkLists they might be easier to accept as trustworthy. This could be done without
the freesite or gallery using any other JavaScript of it's own. I have created a simple rotating banner library and hosted it on my site together with a demonstration page here:
