You're forgetting the fact that freesites are listed forever. TGP's will give you a good burst of traffic when you get listed but thats it.
I have freesites that were subbed over 3 years ago. They're still sending clicks to sponsors.
The reason I bring this up is because we get a good amount of newbie signups. We buy keyword traffic from the big g. If your page is sending a not so positive light on my Link List friends. Then I wouldnt send newbies to your page.
