So us Brits are paying the licence fee to fund the stations and the rest of the world gets it for free.
Although being serious: If anyone is interested in old radio shows, BBC Radio 4 Extra re-runs shows from the beginning of radio, right up to shows first broadcast last week, almost constantly. (The main station BBC Radio 4 produces new radio dramas, comedies, panel shows, and documentaries -but also runs a lot of magazine shows and news shows, the latter being very UK centric, so probably not a lot of interest outside the UK.)
Oh, and for those who are interested: BBC Radio 4 Extra also occasionally runs the radio version of
Dr Who!
