Got the laptop all programmed and filed up. Just a couple of silly problems.

First off I could not remember my own email address to set it up for emails, had to boot up the desktop and find an old email that had been sent to me!

Secondly, one of the things I wanted to do was load a pile of PDF files of old Sci-Fi pulps, to read while away. My sister had given me hundreds on a set of DVDs for my birthday. I put the first disk in, the machine did not even recognise it as a disk. I tried a couple of other disks, no luck. So I tried turning them over in case the drive was upside down. Still no luck. After a lot of swearing I realised the drive on the laptop was a CD drive, and I was trying to load DVDs into it. I had to to transfer the DVDs to my external HD via my desktop, then from the external HD to the laptop, it was a slow business.

Still, at least I got half the packing done already, I decided not to watch Amazon TV when I realised how much bandwidth I am burning up, I don't want to go over my monthly allowance and have to buy more!

Maybe go and finish the packing now!
