I was conned! The film was called "The Witching" listed as being made in 1982 on the cover and 1983 on the copyright. I was surprised because I did not think that Gordon was making films that recently (I mostly think of him as a maker of monster movies in the 50s/60s/70s). Watching it, the fashion in clothing was defiantly late 60s early 70s, and the whole style of the movie screamed "I was made in the 1970s".
So, after watching the movie I looked it up on that there Internet thing. Apparently it was a re-edited version of an old 1972 movie by Gordon called "Necromancy" During the video boom, someone had filmed some new footage, added it to the original film, trimmed out a bit of the old movie, re-edited what was left a little bit, changed the ending, and released it as a new movie.
Ah well, it was crap anyway, and I am guessing that the original was crap too, and not what I was expecting from Bert I. Gordon (not that he did not make crap movies, but he made crap films that were unintentionally funny - "Earth vs. the Spider" , "Empire of the Ants", "King Dinosaur" etc). This film was just crap.
