First I am saddened by this young mans death and in no way intend to impunge his honor or grace.
Second I must say that I have never supported us invading Iraq the "way" we did and for the "reasons " we did, but also feel as I did during Vietnam....though we shouldn't be there....we must always support are men who ARE there.
Is Pat a hero?
Most Definately!
Quote:
As of Thursday, 704 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq last year, according to the Department of Defense. Of those, 507 died as a result of hostile action and 197 died of non-hostile causes.

But in
No Way more then the other 704 service men and women that also have died during this conflict.
But because he gave up safety, and several million dollars at a minimum to serve us civilians makes him no more special then those that also gave up their futures, their lives, their current and possible future families for what they belived...
Is Pat a Hero?
YES
But no more then any other brave soul that believed in us and served in what they believed was our defense...whether they were among the the 704 that died for us, or the tens of thousands that so far have survived....they
ARE ALL HERO'S!
As is any person who gave of themselves for another.
Pat
Is a hero in my book...not because of his celebrity...not because he gave up millions..but for he as so many others were willing to give up their lifes for me even though I did not believe in their cause.
