Where I'm at (from looking at the map lines on "someoneorother's" projection of the world) is slightly further north than Winnipeg (sort of about in line with Calgary and Saskatoon). We are at about freezing now (according to the weather forecast, I haven't checked) but it is set to get colder over the next few weeks. No snow yet, but there was some further north today, and it is forecast to come south.
I just bought another duvet, bringing my total tog rating up to 20.8 and I got my extra heater out of store at the weekend (the one that uses about a million gigawatts of electricity a microsecond, but keeps me nice and warm whatever the weather). So I'm ready.
The good news - despite this cold snap, this year was the warmest on record on average. And out of the 15 hottest years ever, fourteen were this century (which would be the entire fucking century).
So hooray for global warming. I'll chip in to help buy the polar bears a rubber dingy each, but still.... Hooray for global warming.
