Some time back I set up a "contact form" for problems with sales of advertising on my sites. Despite having a "copy the above word/number" type thing I still get spam, but most of it is webmaster related "Hi, we can increase the traffic to your site..." type stuff. Yesterday someone used the form to order advertising instead of the PayPal checkout thing, so I sent them a PayPal invoice. In bed I realised that most spammers had sent spam of the type "contact us to arrange to use our service" so their email addresses had to be genuine. This morning I went through the spam as though I thought it to be a request for advertising and sent them all a PayPal invoice each. Hopefully it will scare some of them off, and maybe even a few will automatically pay the invoices.
