Used to walk the puppy first, then the husky. Used to tell the puppy, when it was time to go home, that he had to give the husky a turn. Today and yesterday I got half way through doing that again before realising that is not the case anymore. No idea what people think of me - a grown man walking a dog in the park, begins to say something to the dog, then begins to cry. They must think I'm an idiot.

I have still not seen one of the two people who owned the husky. He still cannot stand to see me come to walk them, and the husky not be there.

But the saddest sight is the puppy when we come back from our walk. Used to be that the husky heard us coming in (two doors, three locks) and got up to come to the door for his walk, the puppy would jump all over him, he would growl at the puppy and the puppy would calm down. Today and Yesterday he came through the door looking for the husky. I'm guessing he is thinking that the husky will turn up for his walk at least (dog's favourite part of the day). He searches the ground floor for him (the husky would not have been upstairs at this point) then when he does not find him, the puppy hides in the bedroom.

The puppy never usually says goodbye to me, just ignores me when I leave. But these last two days he has come running to me as I get ready to go. I think he is thinking something like "You have forgotten to walk the husky. Please bring him back and walk him. Please.

Sorry to dump this on you, but I have to talk to someone and I cannot do so to his owners, it would only upset them.

And thanks for posting replies.
