Had a blood test today. I am not at home, and I had forgotten the docket to tell the blood department what to test for, so I had to go via home, which added an hour to my journey in travelling time. Then when I got home I could not find the thing, it was not where it should have been, and after an hour's search it was not anywhere I keep important documents. Eventually I 'phoned the hospital, got through to someone who said that if I gave my name and date of birth at the blood place (I'm calling it that because I cannot spell "plebotomy" and I doubt it is in the spell checker*) they could pull the details up from the computer. She then gave me her extension number in case there was a problem. I wrote the number down on a piece of paper, put it in my wallet, and there in my wallet was the original docket I had been looking for!
*It wasn't - the spell checker wanted to send me to the lobotomy department!
