Have been moaning about being stuck in less space than a prison cell, either lying in bed or sitting in the chair beside the bed. Not even allowed to go to the bathroom - washing in a bowl, pissing in a bottle, and shitting on a commode they bring to the bedside. So yesterday they gave me a wheelchair to use.
Weeeeeeee...........................
You have no idea what a relief it is, being able to move about. Although not far. For "health and safety reasons" they told me not to leave the ward. I could go into the ward garden and wiz around the ward but go no further. I was also told to stay away from the ramps (there are a couple of corridors that are "hills"). To be fair on myself I did sit at the top of the ramp for some time thinking about it before disobeying this rule. Then "weeeeeee".
At the bottom of the ramp was the exit from the ward. I was not allowed to go out that door and explore the rest of the hospital.
Fuck them if they cannot take a joke.
I got caught just before I reached the coffee shop. I am not allowed coffee so I was looking forward to breaking another rule. But the physiotherapist caught me and sent me back.
So I am back in the chair now. But I will try again. I may not be allowed coffee, but I am allowed tea, so I have a teaspoon. Perhaps tomorrow I'll start digging a tunnel.
