Instead of using the bloated Mozilla suite, try Mozilla's Firefox for the browser and Thunderbird for email. Firefox is a slimmed down version with the tabs and pop-stoppers etc.. and Thunderbird eats spam for lunch

Oh, and roboform works now with Firefox.
