When my son learned how to climb out of his crib, we decided to dissuade that behavior by baby-gating is doorway. Of course, he climbed over the gate. So we raised it several inches off of the floor. We watched from the dark end of the hall as he began tossing out his stuffed animals into the hall, thinking he was just being a dink. Then he climbed up, tumbled over, and landed softly on his animals. He was just preparing for a rough landing! Little shit.

And no, it does not get any better.
