Washington Redskins coach Steve Spurrier, struggling to grasp the NFL game, has asked team owner Dan Snyder to add Vanderbilt and Louisiana Monroe to the schedule for 2003. Spurrier’s Florida Gators beat the two schools by a combined score of 126-19 in 2001.
“We need to have a few easier games on our schedule for next season so this team can get a chance to grasp the style of football I’m trying to play,” Spurrier said. “If Danny can get them into our division, that’d be even better.”
Spurrier said he is trusting Snyder to follow through on his pledge to him to get whatever resources he needs to build the Redskins into a winner.
