Ants…

Then there is these giant cockroaches called Palmetto Bug. They eat ants and just about anything else they find. They are all over the place down here. Sometimes if you move a rock or something hundreds of them come running out. They are get pretty big, I've seen ones as big as a baby mouse. At night you can hear them walking across your windows.

You have to be careful when outdoors here. You can't sit in the grass or you may end up with fire ant stings all over. The palmetto bugs seem to manage to end up trying to hide by running up your leg on the inside of your pants.

Remind me why I live here again?
We don't have cock roaches here and ants don't bite either...

First time I saw cockroaches was when I was in Moscow hotel at Leningrad (now St.Petersburg). I woke up at middle of the night and thought what was the strange voice I heard. I got out of bed and crunch crunch went a new strange voice and I felt something broked below my feets. When I got the lights on, I saw that the whole floor was full of cockroaches who tried to runaway. They didn't like the lights, so I let the lights on. I cannot go back to sleep right away, I needed some Stoli first, lol!

Well, in Canary Island there was cock roaches in a bungalow hotel that cost some $800 a week, but at that time I was customed to them. We were so drunk all the time there that we hardly saw them, and usually walk over them without noticing, lol!
