Water is free, but I buy bottled water all the time. It tastes better and doesn't have crap in it.
I can download MP3s for free, but I buy most of my music from the iTunes store because saving 99¢ just isn't worth my time and I want safe quality.
I can get TV for free, but I have a satellite dish, the free stuff, while I do watch it sometimes, just isn't enough, again I want quality.
This is just me… there are people that will only take free and then there is people like me.
If you give people a reason to pay for it many will. Surfers will by memberships as long as they feel they are getting something to fill a craving.
