You can get a job - I make too much money at this - LOL. Yes, but there is an agruement that a link trade has some value to the surfer, such as guiding them to more sites with realated info - which is what SEs want anyways. They need links to crawl. Whereas, just buying links for SE purposes is just fim-flamming Google and they would crack down on that much sooner that link trades.
FYI: I like DarkJedi - he's one of my best submitters to my LL. He asked for advice I'm offering it. Not to mention:
1. The price
2. Are the people selling the link gonna be there tomorrow?
3. No matter how high the PR. Are the links relevant?
4. How many other people are they selling links to?
And much much more.
